Cacao Dance & song

Saturday 14th October 2017

One Yoga, Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre, Haringey N8 9JJ

My love for singing has recently been swiftly growing to match my love of dance! Big statement!

So I have decided to combine all of my favorite ingredients in to one yummy concoction of cacao, 5 elements dance and devotional song, in collaboration with the beautiful Layla Kamlani.

Facebook.com/omshalasound

We will begin in circle to drink the cacao and allow its magic to work through us, connecting us more deeply to our hearts and the present moment.

Here we will share our prayers and intentions then dance and sing our bodies into bliss.

Jo will guide us on a dance journey through the elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether, embodying, aligning and dancing with these elemental qualities within our selves. Finding our way back to our own true nature.

Layla will then lead us in devotional mantra, where we will use a unique healing tool – our own voices – to join together and lift ourselves into the vibration of love. In this deep but gentle space we will be supported to open further, blossom and sing our heart song from a place of non-judgement and authenticity.

What is Cacao?

Literally translated as ‘Food of the Gods’, Cacao is one of the most nutritionally dense superfoods and provides many medicinal benefits.

It contains more antioxidants than any other food on the planet.

It stimulates the production of the neurotransmitters dopamine, serotonin and anandamide (also known as the bliss chemical) leading to feelings of euphoria.

It relaxes the muscles and balances the nervous system whilst focusing the mind and activating the heart.

Since the ancient civilizations of the Mayans and Aztecs, cacao has been used in rituals and ceremonies as a tool for journeying deep inside of the self, allowing spirit to move through and guide us.

Bios

Jo is a dancer, ceremonial space holder, free movement and dance facilitator and TRE® Provider.

She facilitates cacao ceremonies with dance journeys that encourage authentic self-expression and a deepening of the senses.

Jo’s ceremonies offer a space for people to drop their masks, break out of their molds, to get real, be vulnerable and find acceptance in the many layers of the self, light and dark. She believes in the power and potential of a ceremonial setting to give potency to the groups’ prayers and intentions to allow for the unfolding and expression of truth.

Layla is a musician and sound practitioner who works with the voice as a healing tool. She passionately supports others to share their own unique voice through mantra and song.
